Right now I’m absolutely smitten with tropical home decor. Give me flamingos, pineapples and palm print stat. The summer weather can be a bit hit and miss, so your best bet is bring the Summer vibe inside!
I’ve been up to my favourite pass time: perusing the interwebs on the hunt for beautiful decor. Lately I’m loving all things tropical! I’ve tried to find some more unusual pieces that you won’t necessarily have seen plastered all over Instagram.
Tropical Home Decor ideas
1# Cotton rich fine etched leaf bedset, from £30, Next
Not a fan of colour? Don’t panic, you can still do the tropical trend if you’re monochrome mad! I think this bedset looks super sophisticated and would look gorgeous paired with bronze accent pieces.
2# Pineapple photo holder, £7, Oliver Bonas
This quirky little pineapple photo holder is the perfectly tropical way to display your photos. I think this would look great sitting on a desk or shelf. You could also use it to display a cool postcard or quote.
3# Carmen table lamp £60, Perch and Parrow
Truth be told I’ve been admiring this lamp for some time now. As pineapple lamps go, and let’s face it there’s a fair few on the market, it’s relatively understated. I think it’s extremely elegant though. I’m pretty sure that a few year’s down the line, when the pineapple hype has died down, this will still look incredible. Plus, how amazing would it look with the bedding above!
4# Dos Flamingos cushion cover, £21.59 Maisons du monde
OK I’ll admit this is not the cheapest cushion cover, but c’mon the print is adorable! The water colour effect is just so pretty and will really add personality to your room. And if the weather does cheer up, I think it would be perfect for with your patio furniture (insert heart eyed emoji here).
5# Ficus tree in ceramic, £15, Marks and Spencer
No tropical decor would be complete without a touch of greenery! I love this artificial ficus tree, perfect for anyone slightly botanically challenged. No watering required. I think the M&S artificial flowers are affordable and very realistic looking.
6# Tropical leaves framed print, £79, Made
I’ve really fallen for this beautiful bold print. I love the colour palette and the fact that the colours are not those you would typically associate with tropical home decor. I think it’s the perfect print to liven up any room. Plus, there’s even a splash of super on trend dalmatian print too. Want!!
7# Printed porcelain bowl, £3.99, H&M
Well just imagine how tropical you’ll feel eating your breakfast from this little gem! White and gold are such a classic combination. There’s also a matching plate, which is just as pretty! In fact H&M ceramics are really worth a look, they have some fantastic designs at very affordable prices.

Now if anybody needs me I’ll be floating around the pool on my inflatable swan, sipping a nice cold mojito (in my mind anyway).

June 9, 2017 at 3:29 pmI’m loving this look – it’s gorgeous. I just like using bright colours, different textures and patterns come summer – a few small changes are all that’s needed isn’t it?
