It’s time for another homeware haul, a Next and Ikea haul to be precise! Yes, I’ve been shopping and you can have a good old nose at what I’ve been buying lately. As Next blogger of the month, I was lucky enough to choose a few items to receive from their website, so I thought I would include them too.
Ikea is pretty much heaven to me, as long as it’s not crazy busy (because in that case it’s hell). I’m always excited to go there and see what bargains I can find. It certainly didn’t disappoint this time around either, despite a slightly grumpy husband in tow.
Next and Ikea Haul
First stop the dining room! Well it’s a kitchen dinner really, but I have big plans for this room. I want to repaint the walls and replace the tiles and lighting, for a look that is, well, a bit more us. Anyway enough waffle, here’s what I bought.
- Place mats – £3.75 each
- Table runners – £5 each
- Wine glass – £1 each
Eventually, when we get around to completing the aforementioned jobs, I want the dining area to have an African inspired feel. I think these gorgeous tribal print table runners, will fit in perfectly with my plans. Table runners are a great alternative or complement to a tablecloth and I think the seagrass place mats work perfectly with them.
Not only are these Hederlig wine glasses a lovely elegant, shape and amazing value for money – you can pretty much fit half a bottle of wine in one. Just saying.
Speaking of glasses, if anyone else is slightly flamingo obsessed, you’ll love what’s next. How cute are these little flamingo glasses for just 50p? They are absolutely perfect for summer drinks on the patio!
Plants
I shouldn’t really be allowed to keep houseplants, I’m not a very responsible plant owner I’m afraid. Plus there are some very convincing artificial plants that are far better suited to the likes of me. However, I just couldn’t resist this Orchid and in a moment of weakness I popped it in my trolley. I’m pleased to say that it’s still looking healthy and dare I say thriving. Although I’m sure I was told that Orchids thrive on neglect (fine by me)!
Not bad for £4.50!
Then this little guy was too cute to resist for £1! I knew he would be the perfect model for my DIY plant stand too.
Storage
I hold my hands up, I’m an interiors magazine addict. Yes, I subscribe to three magazines and probably buy at least three more every month in the name of ‘research’. I thought these super stylish magazine files would go perfectly with the decor in my office, whilst simultaneously making me look organised and less like a hoarder. They were 2 for £4.
Bedroom
I think I’ve saved the best for last. Let’s just dive in shall we…
- Bedding – £16 King size
- Throw – £15
- Navy Cushions – £10 each
- Coral – £16
- Candle – £14
This duvet cover looks nice, sure, but it feels ah-mazing! It’s so incredibly soft and velvety. Seriously, you need to feel it. I love the delicate texture of this throw and it fits perfectly on a king size bed, which is trickier to find than you’d imagine.
We’re going for a boho beach vibe in our bedroom and we are making our way there gradually. I love the new Next summer 2017 home collection and it fits in perfectly. I think this coral looks really unique and this Ocean mist candle smells absolutely divine.
Check out my last homeware haul.
So what do you think of my finds from the Next and Ikea haul? What have you been buying this month? Let me know in the comments.

May 19, 2017 at 9:36 pmAmazing finds, Caroline! So, now you’re an interior designer as well? Is there no end to the breadth of your expertise? ? When it comes time to rent out my condo, would you come over and stage it for me?
